Denise Chakoian-Olney opened her Providence, RI Fitness Studio, CORE Center of Real Energy in April of 2006 after a long career in Corporate America, as well as opening CORE Pilates Mind/Body Studio in January of 2012 on the East Side. She has been in the fitness industry for over 21 years. She was trained from the age of 5 in Tap, Jazz, and Ballet and continued on this path, competing and teaching dance until she was 18 years of age. She then began working out in a fitness club and enjoyed the group atmosphere in exercise classes. She then began her journey in fitness starting with a certification by A.F.A.A. (American Fitness Association of America) as a Group Exercise Instructor. She then began teaching aerobics, Step Aerobics and Total Body sculpting classes in various health facilities. Denise then wanted to get deeper into the fitness industry and received training and certifications through Step Reebok, Mad Dogg Athletics Resist-A-Ball, NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine, Indo-Row, And Peak Pilates. Denise has designed her own Barre workout designed for her studio and her staff. She is currently in the process of being a Chek Practitioner. Denise is extremely passionate about her clients and love helping them achieve their goals.

CORE HIGH INTENSITY WORKSHOP

This hour and a half mat/reformer circuit workshop will concentrate on utilizing exercises where core strength is the main focus. You will also learn how Joseph Pilates first developed his exercises in an open kinetic chain (mat) and then translated them to a closed kinetic change format (reformer). Pilates original theories of Contrology which emphasized concentration and control while intergrading flexibility, strength, breath and flow of movement will be explored. Prior reformer knowledge required. Space is limited to 5 participants. Pre registration is required, sign up on our Mind/Body System.

GIRLS ONLY! Are you a teen athlete or an active teen? Do you want to be? Come to our ALL LEVEL summer camp to get in shape while having fun!
Let the experts at CORE Fitness Studio help your teen maintain an active lifestyle this summer. At CORE, we will utilize state-of-the-art equipment to help teach your teen proper fitness techniques such as cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, and stretching.
This camp will introduce your teen to various exercise methods and physically active games including:
Pilates: Mat, Chair and Stick workouts
Cardiovascular Training: ZUMBA classes
These activities will enhance your teen’s agility, balance, and coordination.

*Each session is limited to 16 campers! This creates a ratio of 1:8 (counselor to camper). This allows for individual attention in a safe and friendly environment. Your teen will learn ways to incorporate fitness activities and exercises into their daily lives! Must have a minimum of 5 campers to run each session.
