Healthy Meal Jars that You Will Love!

Turkey Taco Meal Jar

This meal jar is just about as versatile as it gets.  Exchange the ground turkey for chicken, pulled pork, lean ground beef or tofu or even add additional layers like peppers, avocado, corn salsa, lettuce, tomato or jalapenos if you’re looking for an extra kick!


1 lb. ground turkey

½ c white onion, diced

½ c bell pepper, diced

1 Tbsp canola or olive oil

1 packet of taco seasoning


1 15.5 oz can of black beans, drained and rinsed

1 cup Greek style yogurt (healthy alternative to sour cream!)

1 cup salsa or Pico de Gallo of your choosing (refer to recipe below)



Saute onions and peppers in oil on medium heat until tender, about 3-4 minutes.  Add ground turkey and taco seasoning.  Cook until turkey is no longer pink.

Layer ¾ c ground turkey, ½ c beans, ¼ c salsa, ¼ c yogurt, and top with 1 Tbsp salsa.  Repeat this in the 4 other containers. 

Quick Pico de Gallo Recipe


½ cup purple onion, diced

½ cup tomato, diced

½ cup cilantro, chopped

½ cup red pepper, diced

1 tsp cumin

Salt and pepper to taste



Mix all ingredients and enjoy!
