Amy first fell in love with Pilates as a kid while studying classical and contemporary ballet in Orange County, California. She spent her summers training with the American Ballet Theatre and was on track to become a professional dancer before a severe injury ended her dance career. After surgery, it was Pilates that aided in her recovery and allowed her to remain actively involved in fitness. Amy is a certified Personal Trainer, Zumba, and POUND Pro instructor, but it’s Pilates that continues to be her professional passion. Amy is a Certified Pilates Instructor through Body Arts and Sciences International (BASI) and has previously worked at Physio Logic, Pilates Reforming NY, and Pilates on Fifth in New York City. Her personal and professional experience has given her a deep understanding and appreciation for the benefits of Pilates. She aims to help clients work hard and have fun while increasing strength, flexibility and most importantly, learn how to be in-tune with their bodies.
Jen's journey into Pilates started when she was in college studying dance at San Francisco State University. A back injury was causing chronic pain, and serendipity allowed Jen to become introduced to Pilates through two of her college professors who were also Pilates instructors. When she saw the benefits of Pilates, Jen was hooked, and signed up to become certified. Her first certification was through Ellie Herman, the author of "Pilates for Dummies". Jen went on to teach Pilates for several years in San Francisco and Oakland. She also taught for a couple of years in Maryland and Washington D.C.
Jen earned her Masters in Pilates at The Pilates Center in Boulder, CO. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education from SFSU. Her biggest influences are Rachel Taylor Segel and Amy Taylor Alpers, as well as Cara Reeser and Sharon Gallagher-Riveira. Before joining the team at Core, Jen owned her own Pilates studio in Pawtucket, RI, where she taught Pilates teacher trainings, classes, and privates from 2003 through 2014. In her spare time Jen enjoys spending time with her family, surfing, and doing calisthenic workouts.

She also used Pilates to rehab and strengthen her knee after an ACL reconstruction in 2011. Jacqui 's favorite Pilates exercise is the Teaser on the Reformer. It combines all of the Pilates principles: Breath, Precision, Flowing Movement, Control, Centering and Concentration.
