Melody Gamba

Melody discovered Pilates after undergoing a serious lower back injury while dancing in NYC. She turned to Pilates to prevent future injuries and keep her body balanced and conditioned. In an effort to help others enjoy an energized, healthy, pain free life, Melody became a Stott Pilates International fully certified instructor at Pilates Center of New York. Upon completion of her certification she taught Pilates at the Pilates Center of New York and Reebok Sports Club. In 2003, Melody returned to RI to teach Pilates and dance throughout southern New England.

Melody believes in being a well balanced trainer, and is dedicated to diversifying her training methods. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College and was awarded Awarded the Silver “M” for outstanding leadership & involvement. As a member of RI’s Fusionworks Dance Company, she continues to dance professionally.

Jen McWalters

We are thrilled to announce the addition of Jen McWalters to the CORE Pilates Department and team. Jen has been an integral part of the Rhode Island Pilates scene for the past 11 years and is excited to transition into a role that will allow her to focus on her family and her clients.


Jean Rattle

Jean first discovered Pilates while teaching at an art college in Chicago. She became hooked by the mental focus and physical precision required by Pilates, and noticed how much more energetic and efficient she had become in other areas of her life. After moving to Los Angeles, she received her comprehensive Pilates certification in mat and equipment through Body Arts and Science International. She then worked at a Pilates and physiotherapy practice in downtown LA, where she trained a wide variety of clients, including people recovering from surgery or injury, athletes interested in enhancing their performance, and others interested in improving their fitness.

Jean’s approach to training is to focus on the individual needs and goals of her clients. She loves working with people at all levels of ability and physical condition, and is especially passionate about introducing new people to Pilates. She strongly believes that Pilates is for everyone and is a valuable tool in maintaining long-term health and mobility.


Melissa Allen

Pilates has been an important part of my life for over 10 years. As an instructor, I have had the pleasure of helping clients make countless positive changes. I have helped clients improve their posture, increase strength and flexibility, decrease pain, increase energy, and attain greater overall well-being. I'm proud to have received my Full Certification after successfully completing the STOTT Pilates Certification Course in Toronto, Canada in 2003. Since then I have completed numerous continuing education courses to maintain my certification and keep my knowledge fresh. I have experience working with a wide range of clients from high school athletes to working professionals to those exercising for the first time later in life. I have also helped many people work through injuries and those in special populations. My work has included attention to pre/post-natal, osteoporosis, stenosis, scoliosis, hip replacements, knee replacements, low back pain, neck pain, plantar fasciitis, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis.

Among others, I am certified in STOTT Pilates Full Certification, including Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, and Injury & Special Populations, TRX Suspension Trainer Certification, ACSM Personal Trainer Course, CrossFit L-1 Trainer Course, CrossFit Mobility Trainer Course I’m passionate about helping people realize their true strength through efficient, safe movements.
